Match the received parcel to your order, record packaging and label details, and handle storage questions without guessing from a cool pack.

The short answer
Before first use, match the received item to your order, inspect the packaging and identifiers, and follow that product’s storage instructions. Record discrepancies and pause use if the product, condition or temperature history is in doubt. Appearance and a cool pack cannot authenticate a product or prove its full storage history.

Record the handover before discarding the packaging
A peptide pen arrival checklist should help you record what you received and identify questions that need an answer. It cannot certify authenticity, sterility, potency or medical suitability. A neat parcel and a cool pack are observations, not proof of those qualities.
Note when the parcel was delivered and when you collected it. If a reception desk held it, record the known delay and leave unknown details marked as unknown. Keep the order reference and useful photographs of the packaging. Do not delay the product's labelled storage just to arrange photographs.
This article concerns receipt and documentation. Our pre-purchase checklist covers questions to ask before ordering; the steps below do not replace those checks.
Match the item to the order
Compare the full product name, variant or labelled content, presentation and quantity. Read both the order and the received label rather than relying on a familiar box colour. If the text differs or is unclear, record that difference and ask for clarification before use.
The WHO's consumer advice includes checking the product, packaging and identifying details. It also warns that some falsified products can be visually almost indistinguishable from genuine ones. Passing a visual checklist therefore does not authenticate a medicine.
If the question concerns the units written on a label, use the separate mg and mL explanation. Do not turn a receipt check into a dose calculation, device adjustment or trial injection.
Inspect condition and identifying information
Look for damaged packaging, leakage, broken security seals where provided, missing instructions or illegible information. Compare batch or lot identifiers and expiry information on the inner and outer packaging where both are supplied. Record inconsistencies as questions; do not quietly choose whichever date seems more convenient.
Do not attach a needle, puncture a seal or operate a device merely to see whether it works. Those actions are not part of this receipt checklist. Keep the packaging available while a concern is being resolved, and avoid erasing the details that would help explain the problem.

A completed row means recorded, not approved for use. The table deliberately has no green “safe” result.
Read the exact storage instructions immediately
Follow the instructions for the specific product and presentation. Do not borrow another brand's refrigeration range, room-temperature allowance or first-use limit. Our hotel-fridge storage guide explains why the exact label and storage conditions matter.
NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service transport guidance addresses controlled temperatures and records through transit and handover. A practical inference is that touching a cool pack or photographing the parcel cannot reconstruct the temperature of the entire journey. If reliable information is missing, record the uncertainty rather than turning a cool-feeling package into a guarantee.
In its specific US warning about unapproved injectable GLP-1 products, the FDA advises against using shipments that arrive warm or inadequately refrigerated. That warning does not establish one storage rule for every peptide product. A questionable shipment needs product-specific clarification, not a generic reassurance about how long “peptides” can remain warm.
Send a complete problem report
Keep the report focused on the order reference, product and variant, visible batch and expiry, delivery and collection times, photographs and the exact discrepancy. Personal medical history is not needed to describe a damaged parcel. Ask for the next steps in writing and preserve the relevant packaging and records.
An unresolved temperature excursion may need assessment by an appropriately qualified professional using manufacturer information. The SPS stability resource is designed around product-specific professional assessment, not a universal consumer calculator. Do not invent a replacement expiry date yourself.
Pause use while a concern about the item, condition or temperature history remains unresolved. Questions about medical suitability or an adverse reaction belong with a qualified healthcare professional. The useful outcome of the arrival check is a clear record and a specific next step, rather than an unsupported promise that everything is fine.
